On today’s edition we inspect a Key lime tree which is a fruit bearing tree. Pesticide labels have specific restrictions on them in regards to key lime trees.
This key lime tree in particular has burn marks and crinkled leaves which are evidence of Skeletonizers (moths in the family Zygaenidae). These are known for sucking along the top of the leaf. We also find some evidence of mite damage and webbing from spiders. For this job, we will treat this tree with a natural blend of products. Lawn care chemicals cannot be used here. It should be noted that unfortunately many pest control technicians do not know how to identify fruit bearing trees and this can create bigger problems.
